Just Another Wave by Sai Surve Rane is a poetic journey for the heart and soul. The poems are emotional, reflective and diverse, and sure to make the reading experience magical.
What I like the most about this collection is the treatment. Unlike some poets who use complex vocabulary in their poems, Rane has stuck to simple and easy-to-understand language. I am not a fan of using Thesaurus while reading poems. Not only it breaks the flow, it also feels intimidating. This was an effortless reading, but it left me with a lot to reflect upon.
Rane has presented the 41 poems as four sections—’The third planet from the sun’, ‘Reflections’, ‘Through the looking glass ‘and ‘Detached’. The section titles give a clear overview of the accompanying verses.
The Lantern is a poem I could deeply connect with on a personal level. Endless Nights, Grandmother, Envelopes are my other favourites. The tastefully done illustrations are another aspect worthy of mention.
Just Another Wave is a fine collection of poems. The verses are sure to leave a lasting effect on the readers, even if one is not a fan of reading poems.
This is one book I will treasure forever. I received this book as a prize for being one of the winners in the monthly writing contest held by ArtoonsInn Writers Room.
