Atonement- Sooner than Ever
To err is human, to forgive is divine
Goes the old adage, since forever in time
A sorry is a simple word, an attempt to undo wrongs
When spoken from the dept of heart, it’s a soulful song
But are words enough? Does an apology ever suffice?
For causing harm and hurt, leaving behind feelings not so nice
Sins weigh heavy on the wrongdoer’s soul, atonement seems the only light
Undoing the wrongs, it’s in our righteous actions one would find true delight
We dream of leading joyous lives,
And leaving behind beautiful memories
Riches are vain, if all we’ve caused is pain and dread
No point repenting, no fun drowning lone in bed
Accepting one’s folly is the first step, a task not so menial
Reach out with your heart, don’t live in denial
It’s never too late to start, never too late to own up
Undo your wrongs before your time’s up
Heal with your actions, mend broken hearts
Love and efforts can bring together those far apart
In atonement is peace and calm; just as in a shrine
To err is human, to forgive is divine
