The Real Me

The world oohs and aahs,
admiring me, raving about me
my insta-worthy clicks
generate envy and inspiration
If only they knew
the hideous masks am forced to wear
the filters which hide the tear
and the ‘real me’
Shedding the garbs of falsity
unmasking the lies
I drift off
in a deep slumber
Dreamy wings take me afar
amidst pristine clouds
there’s peace, an unknown calm
ah! the joys of life I unravel
If only, dreams were real
If only, I could be here forever
or if I could be in the world
which accepts and loves the ‘real me’
